Hey Im actually having the same problem ..i am not sure how to prevent the hair algea...so is the name of the snails actually monster???

Sounds like giant magarita snails to me..... They do an awesome job on hair algae!!! Just be sure all your corals are all secured well, bc of their size they knock over a lot of stuff.... But f you have a bad hair algae problem they are definatly worth it.
